Clicking Report Manager from the Reports menu starts the Report Manager that allows you to run reports created using the Report Designer. This topic focuses on running the Reports created using the Report Designer. You can create new reports or modify the existing reports using the Report Designer. There is a report designer tutorial available that can be downloaded from our web site. It can be downloaded by clicking on this link. If you download the program and save to the location where Video Librarian Plus is installed (default; C:\TurboSystemsCo\VideoLibrarian) you can click Report Designer Link to bring the tutorial about how to create and modify reports using the report designer. You can also reference the tutorial if downloaded by by selecting Help>Contents from the Report Designer main menu. The Report Designer menu can be accessed by pressing Add or Edit on the screen below. If downloaded the tutorial can be accessed directly by clicking on FRBUSER.CHM. The tutorial was written referencing another database, but all the lessons are applicable to learning the operation of the designer.
To expand a folder to see all the reports in a folder, click "+" , click "-" contract or use the Expand all, or Contract all buttons.
Other Button Functions
Add - opens the report designer to create a new report.
Edit - opens the report designer so the highlighted report can edited.
Delete - delete the highlighted report.
Expand all - expands all the folders
Contract all - contracts all the folders.
To print a report:
1. Highlight the report you want to print.
2. Click the Print Button.
3. You will next be asked if you want to enter a query. If you want to print all records, click the "Do Not Apply a Query" button on the Query Options screen shown below.
Select a Previously Saved Query: Click this button to select a previously created and saved query.
Create a New Query: Create a new query to filter the report.
Cancel without Continuing: Cancel printing of the report.
The report is previewed to screen using a different pre viewer than used by the pre-formatted reports. We hope to be able to use the pre viewer used by the preformatted reports in a future release. See the current pre-viewer below:
The printer icon will print the entire report to the printer.
The printer icon with the 1 will print the the displayed page.
The X will exit from the print preview.
To print the report to PDF, HTML or Text, click the applicable icon on the right side of the screen, then click the X to exit the report. You will then be prompted for a file name to save the applicable report.
